Julie West, MS, PA-C
Julie West, MS, PA-C is an accomplished Physician Assistant who has worked in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery the entirety of her career at both Northwestern Memorial Hospital and currently at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Julie attended Loyola University Chicago and graduated with a B.S.in Food and Nutrition Sciences/Dietetics. She completed her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where she also served as class president.
Julie first assists in the operating room, and works with surgeons to manage complex reconstructive and wound patients both in the acute inpatient and outpatient setting. She serves as the Advanced Practice Lead for the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery group, serves as a regular preceptor to PA students and is also an essential resource to patients, surgeons, collaborating services and co-workers.
She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and an affiliate member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Additionally, she has authored or co-authored numerous peer reviewed publications, and has had poster presentations at a number of national meetings. She is currently involved in research involving advanced wound modalities to salvage surgical hardware, and enhancing amputee treatment and care in order to optimize function and improve people’s lives.
